Advice for prevention: protect yourself from mosquito’s bites

It is important to protect oneself from a mosquito bite as it transmits the malaria parasite. For this, use bed net treated with insecticide and spray insecticides in bedrooms. This is especially important for pregnant women and children under the age of 5 years-old.

Today, there is no vaccine that will definitively prevent against malaria.

Amodiaquine, artesunate, and other drugs can be used for malaria cure

For the treatment of non-complicated malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum, the W.H.O recommends to use artemisinin-based combination therapy (A.CT.). ACTs are combination of a derivative of Artemisinin (such as artesunate, artemether...) and another antimalarial drug like amodiaquine, mefloquine, etc. Doctors and pharmacists can help you to choose the ACT fitted.
