Prevention and treatment of malaria disease: the Web site provides general advice to the public and specific medical information to healthcare professionals.
Our objective is to inform persons of countries where malaria is prevalent through partnering with doctors or scientists in these countries. We also want to bring updated information, scientific news and articles to healthcare professionals.
Complete protection against malaria is impossible but bed nets treated with insecticides limit the risk of contracting the disease.
Today, there is no vaccine that will definitively prevent against malaria.
Though both are given orally, the treatment for the prevention of malaria and the treatment for non-complicated malaria are different. Only your medical practitioner or your pharmacist can advise you for the appropriate drug and dose (based on your country of origin, your weight, your medical history, etc.).
If you are a healthcare professional, Guidelines for the treatment of malaria are available in the section “Antimalarials drugs”.
