It is important to protect oneself from a mosquito bite as it transmits the malaria parasite. For this, use bed net treated with insecticide and spray insecticides in bedrooms. This is especially important for pregnant women and children under the age of 5 years-old.
There is no vaccine against malaria yet although researchers are still working on it.
Uncomplicated malaria attack can be treated by oral drugs. Only doctors or pharmacists can provide the appropriate antimalarial drug according to the specific parasite responsible for malaria (plasmodium) and according to your personal profile.
